Slamdemic! – Reflecting on the Pandemic with Poetry

How would you describe the pandemic? Today we describe it with poetry. Whether it’s expressing anger, hope, or excitement, poetry paints the picture of the COVID-19 pandemic in ways social media posts and cable news never can.

We feature three poems:

  • “A Week in Coronaville,” by Hannah Watts
  • “Wave-anelle Villanelle,” by Melanie Cox
  • “Happiness is Beans,” by Lydia Chadwick

We also feature musicians who wrote original songs about the pandemic:

  • “The Social Distancing Song,” by Joy Frost. See the Youtube video here.
  • “(Don’t) Come Out and Play,” by Ben Allred and Robert Bradshaw. See the Youtube video here.
